Every human being has an ‘underworld’. What does your look like?
Not quite sure how to answer this quеstion. It’s dual. Consists of different levels of abstraction.
What cartoon reality would you like to live in and what character would you be?
The first thing that pops into my mind is “Rick & Morty”. There are many parallel universes. It’s quite convenient there. I’d be a secondary character who lives in some simulation of a micro-universe in a whale’s consciousness. That is totally possible over there. I would be Rick if I had to choose between the main characters. Morty would just constantly shout at me with his usual: “Riiiiiccck!”.
What was the breaking point of your life?
Being baptized. I was 2 or 3 years old. I still remember that wonderful moment. I remember that I cried and screamed a lot. I even remember what socks I wore. They had a bear on them. A black and white bear. Or it might have been a panda. I vaguely remember.
What moment would you like to relive over and over again?
It’s all cycled over and over again anyway. I don’t want to relive anything. I certainly wouldn’t want to loop my baptism experience. Fortunately or not, nothing comes to mind. Let’s move on to the next question.
A story of a person that inspires you?
All of a sudden I forgot everything. You can’t even imagine. But I honestly don’t know. Maybe Aristotle. By the way, I just thought of an answer to the previous question! When I was in 5th grade we had a class of rhetoric. Once we were asked to say what we were afraid to lose within the classroom walls. I had nothing to lose in that room really so the only thing that came to mind was: “Well my second cousin is sitting over there so I wouldn’t want to lose him probably”. But he was sick at the time so he wasn’t even in the room. I was indifferent about everyone else. That was a moment when I could come up with an answer, unlike right now. I would like to relive the moment of having that skill over and over again. The moment where your mind is capable of coming up with quick answers. I stood in front of the class and didn’t hesitate to say: “I don’t want to lose you”. The teacher along with the whole class looked at me with complete understanding. It would be great if I could brilliantly answer every question right now.
What are the pros and cons in your field of activity?
I wouldn’t want to mention material matters. It’s quite obvious that it’s difficult to make a living while doing this so there is no point in discussing it further. One of the advantages is that people know you. A disadvantage is that people know you too. But I’m at that stage where I can’t just stop doing it. I’m used to it. It’s my way of self-expression. I’ve created the project I’m performing with today [Polje] when I was 15 years old. It’s sort of also cycled as you can not do anything for a long time and then all of a sudden you record a lot of cool material. Then it happens all over again. You need to let it out somewhere when you accumulate new feelings and thoughts. This is my way of doing it. I, for example, study programming and it’s a so-so activity. I doubt that I will work in that field.
Tell us a funny or awkward story from your life.
Last summer I was in a cab with two girls. The radio was on and that station usually plays ok-ish music at around midnight. So we sit in the car and a decent techno set was playing. My friend asked the taxi driver if he likes techno. Obviously it’s not the most fun moment of my life but it’s one of them. This story just came to mind first. The taxi driver replied: “This is not techno. This is his majesty, Carl Cox”.
What are you trying to convey to people through your music?
That you shouldn’t bother. Don’t worry. Everything is fine. There is this wonderful scene in “Rick and Morty” very first episode where they are trying to escape some cockroaches at the space customs. They bang down a hookah from an alien. Morty inhales the smoke and when he exhales the smoke transforms into an alien infant that instantly grows up into an adult and then grows old and dies. This entire thing lasts for 3 seconds. So with my music, I try to convey the conclusion that Rick makes out of the whole story and tells Morty: “Don’t think about it!”.
If you had to choose just one method of a death penalty in the world what would it be?
A person should enter a cage with a liger. A liger is a hybrid cross between a male lion and a female tiger. So a person enters the cage and the liger tears him or her apart. Beautiful animal.
What killer do you sympathize with the most?
The lyrical hero from the song ‘White Jaguar’.
What book would you suggest us to read?
About the murderer named Roman. Oh no, I remember something else: Vladimir Sorokin’s “Norm”. It’s a must-read. Fantastic book.
Why are sewer hatches circle-shaped?
Because the circle is sacred. Because the movement goes round. It’s all about the teachings of the sun. And what is the sun? It’s a heavenly body that gives us life. And that’s it. The circle looks like the sun.
Do gods have gods? – Maxim, 5 y.o.
I don’t know. Ask them. And what is ‘God’? What is a ‘human’? These are the questions we’ve asked ourselves today.
Today, when you apply for primary school, you have to answer some weird questions like: “What is one thing that a hedgehog and milk have in common?”
Hedgehogs are mammals. The answer is obvious. Or do you mean the emotional state of the hedgehog? His feelings? I think he experiences the same feelings as we do. When I see a hedgehog crossing the street in the summer I always acknowledge that it’s alive and it must have feelings. So first we need to find out what is a hedgehog and whether a hedgehog feels anything. Milk is certainly life-giving but unfortunately, it hardly experiences anything. It’s difficult to imagine a hedgehog without milk. You understand, right? It’s confusing. A very non-linear story.
What is the most fascinating fraud in the history of mankind?
But what is fraud? You can call anything a fraud. We need to have a clear understanding of what we are talking about here. Otherwise, things can be very abstract. We’ve gone too far.
What superhero would you like to be and what superpower would you like to have?
I can’t recall the name of the film where the protagonist is played by Dwight from “The Office”. He beats everyone up with a wrench. I’d like to be that. He doesn’t have a superpower per se, he just picks up a wrench and beats everyone up. Your questions are very deep. I’d like to have a superpower to ask questions just as deep as these.
